Holiday Season

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!
Calvin was more excited about his turkey shirt then eating the real turkey but he still ate a lot of of food (mainly olives).
The weekend before Thanksgiving, the local mall had it's Christmas tree lighting celebration. We headed over to check it out.
There were lots of pretty lights and music playing.
And there were huge toy soldiers to say hello to.
Calvin is definitely starting to warm up to mascots/people in costumes so fingers are crossed for our Santa visit this year.
Then there was a train ride for the kids.
 We waited
 and waited
and waited in the very cold
 to finally get on
and ride in the caboose just like he had hoped for.
He was so excited. He would just squeal loudly every couple of minutes while we waited.
 Then off they went!
Around the streets of the mall.
 Chugga chugga choo choo!
 Here comes the caboose!
Worth the wait in the cold (but we were NOT waiting in the other long line for the carriage ride).

Working

Not sure if it's from his daddy or a teacher at school
but Calvin says this is how you hold a pencil when you're working.

It's pretty cute.

Clothing? Why?

Calvin has learned to undress and frequently prefers to be without clothing now.
He has no problem doing things around the house without clothing.
Helping with the garbage.
 Working on his workbench.
 And, of course, playing baseball.
Hasn't complained of being cold yet.

Train Fest

Last weekend I took Calvin to Train Fest.
He loved to watch the trains race by.
There was a train to ride on, too.
He wanted to go on by himself (which made me glad because I didn't want to pay to squeeze myself in there).
Calvin managed to find all the trains that were pulled by Thomas.

Then there was this Thomas to bounce in...
 And bounce he did!
This was the only in-focus picture I could get.
It was hard to catch him in the frame.
But I managed to get a few good shots.
Up!
 Up!
 And away!
Then there were the Thomas the Train tables.
 They had enough for everyone.
There was even music and story time.
Calvin loved to sing and dance along.
He has become soooo much better at listening to a performer or reader since starting school.
Then it was on to more trains.
 And more trains.
So many different trains to see!
SO much fun!

Don't Fall

I took Calvin to one of our local parks to get some fall photos on a beautiful day.
Calvin was excited to get down the hill.

He quickly ripped his shoes off
to head down to the sand.
He was fascinated by the rocks, big and small.

Sand, rocks and sticks...what more could a boy want?
Things to climb on, that's what.
 Rocks
 and walls
 are great for climbing.
 A beautiful fall day.
