Mmmm Ribs!

We went out for ribs with Grandma Sarah and Grandpa David.

 

 Calvin was happy that for once he wasn't the only one wearing a bib.

The Great Outdoors

Calvin and I went back to the nature center a little over a week ago for an "Audubon Babies" group.

 

Chip's mom organized the outing with the nature center.

 We have had such a mild winter so far and this was one beautiful day!

 We all strapped on our babies and headed out for a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery.

 They had tapped one of the maple trees to collect sap for making maple syrup. They let us taste the sap. Maple syrup tastes better.

We got to meet another little boy from our same town that has the same birthday as Calvin (the other boy in a bear suit on the far left).

Thanks to Christine for working with the Audubon Center to get this fun day arranged! Can't wait for the next one!

Boating in the Winter

A few weeks ago Calvin met his friends at the mall by our house. There were lots of different things to climb on but Calvin wouldn't leave the boat.

 He knows the girls like a boy with a boat.

  He took a brief trip to outer space...

 But then went right back to the boat.

 What's in the water?

 Watch out for  swimmers!

 Man overboard!

 We'll have to take him to the boat show this summer.

Number 9

 Calvin is 9 months old today!

Calvin has been finding it funny when I put things on his head lately.  

I think it's amazing that he sits still long enough to take a picture.

 The funnel is his favorite.

Fun at the Doctor

I had to take Calvin to the doctor last week (nothing serious, just a little cough). He managed to entertain himself while we waited. 

I couldn't decide which picture was the cutest so I am showing them all. 

He made the paper fly.

 He tore little pieces.

 And big pieces.

 He pretended to be reading it.

 And balled it up.

 And wrapped himself in it.

 And generally made a mess.

 Mmmm...tasty.

 "I want this tiny piece."

 I always feel bad about the mess he makes but his doctor just laughs and calls it "cheap entertainment".

 I made a swan, but I don't know what a swan is so it doesn't have to look like one.

We go back next week for his 9 months appointment, which will involve shots and, therefore, not as much fun.

Feel the Love

Calvin wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day!

 Calvin and Chip showed the loving spirit of the holiday with their friendship.

 There was some sharing (yes, that is Calvin taking the pacifier out of Chip's mouth).

 And there was some hugging.

 And some cuddling.

Hope everyone felt equally loved this Valentine's Day!

Jail Bird

All this trouble-making has landed Calvin in baby jail.

 "Nobody knows the trouble I've seen"

  Usually we have it unfolded and use it to keep him in the living room (and, therefore, out of Millie's water dish).

 

 Even in jail, he can find trouble.

 Got to get some exercise in jail.

 Those are muscles rippling on his arms, not fat, I swear.
