Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
As you can see, we did a bunny ear photo shoot yesterday.
Calvin, amazingly, kept the ears on pretty well.
He wasn't sure what exactly what was going on
But knew enough to try to pose nice.
He would say "Cheese! Happy Easter! Happy Birthday! Happy cheese!"
Millie was a good sport, too.
They supported each other in the ridiculousness.
Kisses for you, hugs for you!
Calvin thought he'd help her by taking her ears off, which she was fine with.
Tomorrow I will show you the multiple Easter egg hunts we had.

More Preschool

Calvin was a big fan of the bike room at Grandma Sarah's preschool.
There were scooters (his favorite thing right now even though he can't actually do it well)
 and climbers
 and snack time!
He sat and ate sooooo nice with the big kids.
Then it was on the his SUV (although he kept going backwards in circles and the older kids had to weave around him).
 And a slide!
He broke the rules and went down head first.
Luckily none of the big kids were around to see him misbehave.
Then it was back to the room for more counting,
 cleaning up,
and making a few phone calls.
A fun day!

Preschool

Back to Chicago. Calvin got to visit Grandma Sarah at work and experience preschool.
After showing him off to her co-workers, Grandma Sarah showed him the way to her classroom.
He had to check out the Legos.
 And all the spaceships.
This boy kept saying "He's just a little guy" and hugging Calvin.
He appeared to be looking through the canned foods but then he started knocking them all off to make quite a commotion in the corner.
Grandma showed him some quieter things to play with,
including the treasure chest for the leprechaun.
Then the class went to music class. Calvin was fascinated by the teacher.
He took a backseat for this song and I didn't think he liked it but he has been singing it a lot since we left.
 Next up, the bike room...

Baby Doll

My phone is acting up so we will get back to our Chicago trip later. Calvin was very into playing with his baby the other day.
He said it wanted strawberries to eat.
One for you, one for me.
 Gotta sit up straight.
The baby helped him do some cooking.
Then it was on the the living room.
He wanted to cover the baby with a blanket on the couch. Millie wanted to snuggle with it.
But that made Calvin want to snuggle with it.
 And pretend to sleep.
But pretend sleeping can only last so long before fidgeting beings.

And then he was on to the next thing.

Poor baby.

Garden Show

Last week, we ventured to Chicago. Calvin, Grandma Sarah and I went to the Garden Show on Navy Pier.
Calvin got to ride the El train.
 And a trolley.
Last year we went on St. Patrick's Day and we had to battle all the drunks. This year was MUCH better but cold.

Calvin liked to smell the flowers.
 And run around the displays.
 And play with the rocks.
This was a real piano made into a water feature.
There was a play area (trying to sell climbing structures but was just used as a play area).
It had chairs to sit on and sand to kick.
And it had things to climb on.
Calvin is VERY into climbing right now
 and he's good at it.
He struggled with the rope ladder so I showed him how to ride it like a horse, which luckily was an acceptable replacement.
Once we DRAGGED him away from the play area, we found a coy pond to entertain him.
Needless to say he fell asleep on the way home, sleeping through the sounds of the El, the street traffic, an ambulance going by, and a trip to DSW.
A real city boy.
