Garden Show

Last week, we ventured to Chicago. Calvin, Grandma Sarah and I went to the Garden Show on Navy Pier.
Calvin got to ride the El train.
 And a trolley.
Last year we went on St. Patrick's Day and we had to battle all the drunks. This year was MUCH better but cold.

Calvin liked to smell the flowers.
 And run around the displays.
 And play with the rocks.
This was a real piano made into a water feature.
There was a play area (trying to sell climbing structures but was just used as a play area).
It had chairs to sit on and sand to kick.
And it had things to climb on.
Calvin is VERY into climbing right now
 and he's good at it.
He struggled with the rope ladder so I showed him how to ride it like a horse, which luckily was an acceptable replacement.
Once we DRAGGED him away from the play area, we found a coy pond to entertain him.
Needless to say he fell asleep on the way home, sleeping through the sounds of the El, the street traffic, an ambulance going by, and a trip to DSW.
A real city boy.
