Gymnastic Fridays

Chip's mom and I switch days to watch the boys after school twice a week.
I take them on Fridays and often take them to the open gym gymnastics.

 They are pretty happy there.

Here Calvin convinced Chip to get inside this thing.

 Opps! Not good!

 Two peas in a pod.

Afterward I took them through a carwash.
 They were fascinated.
Now when Chip gets in my car, he comments that it is dirty, hoping he can convince me to go through another carwash.
On the drive home, they started bickering and Calvin was saying he didn't want to sit next to Chip anymore.
Less then two minutes later, I look back and they are holding hands and getting along just fine.
I see why people mistake them for twins all the time.

Birthday Party Fun

Calvin was invited to "Baby Kaitlyn's" birthday party. She is 3 now, so not much of a baby anymore.
As part of the treasure hunt, the kids were supposed to jump from the "castle". Kaitlyn was very cautious and asked for help.
I think Calvin thought he could fly.

He was very happy to be playing in a room with padded floors.

 He turned every activity
 into something involving falling.

Luckily this did not end in either of them falling.
In the cage with Baby Isla was probably the best place for him.
 Then came food and presents

 and CAKE!
He's a pretty big fan of cake.

Any gathering that ends with cake gets the thumbs up from this guy.

How I Became a Pirate

We took Calvin to a cute musical based on the kid's book "How I Became a Pirate".
Calvin was a little nervous by the pirates being so close up but got over that quickly.
We went to a special performance that had an ice cream social afterwards.
And the kids were given balloon swords.
His friends William and Chip were there, too.

Calvin and Chip were very excited about the swords.
It wasn't so much a sword fight
 but a sword chase.
It's a pirate's life for them!

New Year's Traditions

We followed our usual New Year's Eve tradition by having Laura, Mike, and Jolene to Lake Geneva for the celebration.
Calvin shared his reindeer nose with Jolene.
Doesn't she look like a cute little Dr. Suess character?
 They really enjoy being together.
 They are getting so big!

And Laura brought ice cream cake, as usual!
 Messy kids need a bath
and sleepy kids need a book.
The next day, they continued to have fun together.

So fun to see them grow up together.
Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!
