Costumes! Costumes! Costumes!

Calvin had quite the Halloween season this year. With it came several costume changes.
Starting in mid-October, he went to a Halloween/fall party with Chip at his country club.
We had them both dress in lederhosen and it was rather adorable.
Next was his Halloween party at school.
He was very excited to be a football player. (Chip was the pirate.)
He also wore this costume for trick or treating in Lake Geneva.
He was one of only a few kids out in the neighborhood so people were very generous.
Then it was back home to Whitefish Bay and into his dinosaur costume.
He quickly wanted to find his friends and hang out with them.
All three boys were going to be dinosaurs but Dominic just couldn't resist being Batman again this year.
Then we had a Halloween party for his music class.
We did a baseball player for that because I forgot the football helmet in Lake Geneva and, not surprisingly, this costume was rather easy to pull together.
Hope everyone had a very Happy Halloween!

Field Trip

Last week Calvin had a field trip to the pumpkin and apple farm.
We had much better weather than last year.
The kids got to learn about how apples grow and how the bees help.
The kids then got to pick out apples from the crates.

The apple trees did not like this past winter and summer so there weren't a ton of apples so the orchard let each kid pick just one apple of the trees.

Of course the kids wanted to help themselves to an apple or two.

Then they got to pick out a pumpkin.
Calvin has a tendency to pick the first pumpkin he sees and refuse to look  around for better ones. Today was no exception.
After that the kids got a snack
and got to look around at the animals.

To kill time, we hung around for a bit and let the kids burn a little extra energy.

Calvin got to try his first carmel apple. It was a sticky mess and he pretty much just ate the carmel off the apple.

Another fun little field trip!

Pumpkin Festival

This year Calvin took two trips to the annual Pumpkin Festival.
First we went with Chip and his mommy while Daddy was out of town.

The boys had to check out all the different pumpkins and gourds.

 And all the halloween decorations.
 There was dancing, as always.

It was chilly, so there was snuggling for warmth, too.

A few days later we were back with Daddy.

The dancing crowd included a kid with a costume that drew a lot of attention and excitement, a racing sausage!
Another fun Pumpkin Festival!
