Cape May Zoo

Sorry for the slow posts. I've been consumed with looking at bathroom tile for the new bathroom all week.
So we took a trip to the Cape May Zoo while we were visiting out East.
It was a really nice zoo
 and was free!

There were a lot of animals
and a lot of shade to stand in while looking at them, which is a great idea.

Calvin loves the penny press souvenir things that are at all tourist-y places.

Daddy agreed to squeeze into the train for a nice little train ride.
 There they go!
It was a very nice trip for everyone!

Water Fun

Calvin loved the ocean this year.
He wasn't out there swimming or anything but definitely was having more fun in the water then past years.

This was his favorite: he would say "Zig me and zag me!"
I would just cross my fingers and pray he didn't go flying out in to the ocean.

He loved playing with his daddy in the water.
He was definitely more brave this year.

Here Grandma Happy and Calvin are clapping to get the birds to fly away.

Lots of fun in the water this year.

SAND

Calvin loved playing in the sand in Ocean City this year.
Big holes were his favorite thing.

He loved having help but was willing to do the work himself if necessary.
Besides digging in the sand, he loved to draw in it. This is him working on perfecting his baseball.

The sand was also good for running
 and for looking at jellyfish.

Gotta love the sand!

East Coast Vacation

Two weeks ago we headed East for a nice week long vacation.
One thing we did was a pirate ship cruise.
 Calvin borrowed Chip's pirate costume.

Calvin thought the idea of the pirate ship sounded fun but was a little scary in reality.
The guy in the white shirt took Calvin under his wing and made him his helper to find the buried treasure, which Calvin was happy to do.
He helped him use a pole with a hook on it to grab the X that marked the spot for the treasure.

Then helped pull the treasure out of the water.
 Such the little pirate helper.
Then they got to open the treasure chest
 and get some treasure!
He was quite happy about getting treasure.

 Lots of little trinkets.

While he was somewhere between terrified (I didn't take pictures of the mean pirate attacking the ship or the skull floating in the water, both of which scared him) and elated the whole time, he said it was his favorite part of the trip by the end of the trip.
