Glimpse of Spring

Every once in a while we get a little glimpse of spring-like weather.
Calvin likes to take take advantage of the nice days and spend time outside.

This day he was into filling up buckets with snow
 to make snow "castles"
 so he could smash them.

Millie likes the warm weather and time outside, too.
Wouldn't be a spring day without some golf
 and baseball.
Ah, spring. We miss you! Please come back soon!

Safari

Calvin has been enjoying playing animal safari in the house lately.
His animal hunts are all cruelty-free, of course.
 But I hide the animals
 and he finds 'em.

Gotta love easy entertainment!

Parachute Playtime

We went to a parachute playtime at our local library a week ago.

 Our neighbor William was there
and they had a good time.

They definitely preferred the run and be crazy time over the stand still time
 but overall they had fun.

So much fun they chose to take a break.
It's tiring to be 2.

School Days

I got to help in Calvin's class last week.
Several kids were out sick so it was a pretty easy day.
We had play time.
 Then came story time.
The story was about how Humpty Dumpty ended up on the wall so Mrs. G had a real egg to demonstrate what happens when an egg falls off the wall.
Then we went outside (quite the feat to get them all dressed).
Then there were projects to do. Here they were fixing Humpty Dumpty.
Chip was playing teacher with the teacher here. It was too cute!
 And more projects.
Here Spencer is playing Little Mr. Muffet sitting on his tuffet and Lucia is the spider scaring him.
Another fun day helping in class!

Trip to the Trains

We don't pass up an opportunity to take Calvin to see model trains.

Last weekend was at The Domes.
Calvin was disappointed that it was Percy on the track and not Thomas. So Daddy asked the man if there was any chance Thomas could go for a run (he was sitting in plain few, taunting the disappointed children). He said it was fine and had Calvin help him change the trains.

Calvin was quite pleased to get to hold Thomas before he went for his run.
Then he got to hold Percy while Thomas was put on the track.
So then we had to watch him chug around for a while.
 We stopped for lunch.
He decided to be fancy with feeding himself grapes.
We checked out the other dome
but then had to go back and watch Thomas more.

Gotta love a day with Thomas!

Up Close and Personal

Calvin can be a little clingy at home sometimes.

Who needs personal space, right?

Spring? Not yet.

Recently we had a little tease of spring.
So I broke out Calvin's "muddy buddy" suit.
It's not a hazmat suit like it looks.
It's a waterproof suit that makes playing in puddles a perfectly fine, non-messy activity.
Unless you are standing close when he does a big splash. Then you, as a bystander without your own muddy buddy, get rather wet.

He had such a great time.

Too bad the nice weather didn't last. Now we have seas of ice up and down the street.
