Trains Trains Trains

Right before Christmas, I found another train display for Calvin to check out.
 Calvin was fascinated.

This set was made entirely of Legos.
The kids loved it but the people that put it together were a little protective.
Calvin made them nervous because he liked to pretend to be the "gate" by putting his arm across the track and lift it right before the train passed.
The exhibit was at Discovery World so we checked out the rest of the place as long as we were there.
What previously was a baseball exhibit is now a football exhibit.
Calvin was quite pleased with the change.
Calvin thought this was a good angle for watching the fish.
Then it was back to the trains.
He liked being able to do the controls for this train.

Gotta love trains!

Christmas Morning

Merry belated Christmas to all!
 Santa visited Calvin this year.
Calvin no longer needs any instructions on how to open presents.
Maybe a little help getting a big ball out of a small bag.
He got the basketball he had asked Santa for.
 He was pretty happy.
 Ok, very happy.
He was excited about all the other things he got, too.

Some things that were opened in the morning
 stayed with him all day.
He had a very merry Christmas!

Country Christmas

Before Christmas, we took Calvin back to the lights display called Country Christmas.
 After driving through the lights,
 and seeing Baby Jesus
it was on to watching the trains.
 And watching.
And watching (especially once he found the Thomas train).

Gotta love all the trains at Christmas.
We know Calvin sure does!

Catching up on Christmas

Here is a recap of Calvin's second trip to see Santa a few weeks before Christmas.
We headed over with the neighbors to one of the local churches for a pancake breakfast with Santa.
Calvin wanted to check out Santa right away but just observe.
They wanted their pancakes first. Here he and William are literally chanting "Pancakes! Pancakes!"
 Dig in!
 Yum!
Then he and William checked out Santa again after some running around.
 Then they did some coloring.
While coloring, Calvin got inspired to sit on Santa's lap.
He was even up for a hug from Santa.
He genuinely enjoyed this visit with Santa.
After his time with Santa, he wanted to get his face painted like all the other kids.
 He sat well.
Let her put a spot on his nose.
Then was able to have her paint anything he wanted on his hand (he chose hand over face).
I know you all are shocked that he chose a baseball.
A fun day with friends and Santa!
