Happy Halloween!

Quick break from vacation photos for a Halloween post.
Calvin had 2 different costumes this sesaon.
He was a chef when for a costume birthday party he went to.
We can pretend that he had a rolling pin in his hands as part of his costume but in reality
he found a baseball bat within seconds of arriving at the party and ditched his chefs accessories.
On Sunday, Calvin went trick or treating with some neighbor kids.
We told him to roar and it was more of a howl.
Calvin wanted his daddy to go with him so I made Daddy wear the safari hat to go with the tiger.
William was a lion so they were a perfect pair.
I'm told he was a very determined trick or treater.
 But everyone needs a break.
In his group there were lions
and tigers
 and Batman, oh my!
Calvin had to indulge a little.
He also really liked to hold the bowl for the trick or treaters that came by.

After trick or treating we headed to the pumpkin festival, where Calvin got to see Chip for the first time in a week.
And check out a lot of pumpkins.

Another fun Halloween! Hope you had a good one!

Sand Diego Day 2, Part 1

Day 2, Sunday, we ventured up to Balboa Park for some fun.
We took the city trolley.

And an old fashioned trolley around the park.

It took us up to the beautiful Balboa Park.

From there we walked up to...
 a train ride!
 Calvin was quite excited!
 He wanted to ride
with his daddy
 in the tiny train car.
There were all sorts of things to see.

We were right by the zoo so there were various animal statues throughout the ride.
They took us through a tunnel.
 Calvin LOVES going through tunnels.
Next we went on another carousel ride.
Mommy got to ride on this one, too.
And just as his mommy would have done as a child, he chose to ride the dog.
Next came this neat flying ride.
This was the first time in a long time he has rode on a ride completely by himself and he had a great time.
Next we wandered the park and saw more fountains
 and water features.
Calvin got to see a real turtle swimming in this pond.

 After some more running
it was back on the trolley
 which put him to sleep.
He slept on our way to the next tourist attraction for the afternoon...
