Little Slugger

Calvin requested to wear his daddy's hat while he played baseball in the house the other day.
He insists I use the reverse camera on my iPhone so he can see himself, therefore his vanity leads to lower picture quality.
He also requested to wear one of Christmas shirts. He is getting rather opinionated about things lately.
He looks kinda tough in these pictures because, not surprisingly, he fell and smacked his face and got a black eye.

He had quite the little game of baseball going, tossing himself the ball.
He wanted to make sure his daddy saw him in his hat.
And see if there were any better options in the basket of balls.
 Nothing grabbed his interest.
So he thought he'd grab a seat.

So much fun just because of a hat!

Happy Valentine's Day

Calvin spent Valentine's Day with a few of his buddies at the Mitchell Park Domes.
These little guys love playing together!
\
There is a train exhibit there right now.
If you look closely, you can see a "real" Thomas the train engine. Calvin was quite excited.

There was so much to look at.

And so many places to run around.

He was shockingly good about leaving the plants alone.
There is some hope for my garden next summer!

We had to drag them away from the waterfall.

It was a very nice Valentine's Day with his friends!

Wishy Washy

Calvin also likes to "help" (I use this term very loosely) wash the dishes.
I'm trying to work on him keeping the water in the sink
and not down the front of him.
I keep reminding him that we are washing the dishes,
not the Calvin.

Sous Chef

Calvin loves to help. He loves to cook. He loves to help cook (sometimes real, sometimes pretend).
Yes, I know it looks precarious but he is so happy to really cook that he doesn't move. You've never seen him sit in one place so long (and I only step away to take pictures).
He takes his cooking very serious,
especially when he is given "real" ingredients that I am cooking with also.
And like a real chef, he makes a big mess.
Between Todd and Calvin, I may never have to cook later in my life.

More Baby Jolene

We got to spend some more time with Baby Jolene (and her parents) a few weekends ago. She's only become cuter and cuter.
Calvin had to check out everything she was doing.

All sorts of old baby toys were now very interesting.
We can say that he was just showing her how to play with the toys but we all know that's not true.
And Calvin thought her blankets were the best place to sit all of a sudden.
Calvin did share his new book with her.
And she did like to watch this crazy boy do all his crazy things.
And she was pretty laid back about Calvin being all over everything she touched.

But only she got to chew on her yummy fingers.
And play with her awesome boots.

We can't wait to see how much she has changed by the next time we see her!

Keeping Busy

Last weekend, we went to Lake Geneva and Grandma and Grandpa didn't get there til after Calvin went to bed so he had to find ways to entertain himself.
He tried on the cowl his mommy knit for him.

  He tried on Grandma's boots.

He did some work in Grandpa's office.
He loved to count the coins.
 Future CPA? CFO?
 Or maybe a baker.
 Personal chef?
I'd hire him. He really gets in to his work.
Good thing bedtime finally came or he would have had to start playing with the actual toys.
