Keeping Busy

Last weekend, we went to Lake Geneva and Grandma and Grandpa didn't get there til after Calvin went to bed so he had to find ways to entertain himself.
He tried on the cowl his mommy knit for him.

  He tried on Grandma's boots.

He did some work in Grandpa's office.
He loved to count the coins.
 Future CPA? CFO?
 Or maybe a baker.
 Personal chef?
I'd hire him. He really gets in to his work.
Good thing bedtime finally came or he would have had to start playing with the actual toys.

Snow! More! Fun!

It snowed again today. But yesterday it was 60 degrees outside with no snow left anywhere and Calvin had rediscovered his warm weather backyard toys. So today, he wanted to play with them again. This time in the snow.
We had to play some baseball.

 Get out the rake.

 Do some mowing.

And play in the car (but just like big cars, the door was frozen shut from the rain followed by freezing temperatures).

He even got to play with the neighbor kids, Naomi and Cole, in the backyard, just like summer.
Everything is better in snow!

Happy Birthdy, Daddy!

Today was Daddy's birthday!
Happy Birthday!

Shoveling Helper

Calvin has been very into helping lately. And is fascinated by the snow. So this is how we spent the afternoon.
 Shoveling!

He helped me clear the show in the backyard.

So then we moved to the front yard.
At this point, we got a little help from Daddy.

Calvin wanted to try switching shovels.

But quickly wanted his shovel back.
Calvin wanted to keep going and going so we did,
to the benefit of our neighbors on both sides of us.
Then we went back to the backyard to play in all the snow we shoveled.

 He loved throwing snowballs.

His favorite was the "big one!"
He is loving this Wisconsin winter!

Another New Baby!

Auntie Jennie and Uncle Larry had their baby and it's a boy!
Grandma Sarah got to visit and meet him and sent us some pictures.
Meet the very-new-to-this-world Dean Everett Todaro
Calvin has a little second cousin to be a partner in crime (or someone to blame things on).
Calvin sent him a message:
(cannot be viewed on iPad or iPhone)
We can't wait to meet him!

Boucing Fun

Two Sundays ago we went to a family fun night at a local community center.
One of the many fun things they had there was a bounce house with a slide.
Chip was there with his mama, too, so they let the two of them go in together.
Last time Calvin went in one was over the summer and at that time he hated it.
This was not the case this time.
He could not get enough of it this time.
Finally, we had to coax them out.
It didn't take much convincing.
They were more then happy to exit via the slide.
Needless to say, they wanted to go back for more.
