Riding Toy?

Calvin has several toys that are made for riding.

 And then there's this poor guy.

 As you can see from his size, he is NOT a riding toy.

 But that isn't stopping Calvin from trying to ride him.

 He knows he has to straddle it

 and sit on it.

 Now scoot around.

Opps!

 Let's try again, leaning forward.

 Nope.

Keep trying, buddy. 

No, wait! Don't! It's not a riding toy!

Kisses

Calvin has been very into giving kisses to everything lately, especially Millie. 

 And he thinks it's funny when she tries to kiss him back.

Tent Time

I opened up Calvin's sunshade tent for him to play in. 

 Things have changed a little since he used it last summer.

 Is that the same kid?

Hard to believe this wiggle-worm ever stayed that still.

A New Discovery

The other day while I was washing dishes I heard a "click", then a "clunk" followed by pitter-patter, pitter-patter over and over. I looked into the hall to see Calvin with his new discovery. 

The laundry shoot. 

 The click was him opening the little door.

Back and forth he would run, find a toy, and drop it down the shoot. 

Clunk!

 This was everything I found at the bottom of the shoot that day.

Quite a collection.

A New Treat

Calvin has discovered a love for another summer treat.
As with so many foods, first he had to poke at the watermelon. 

 Go ahead, dig in for a big bite!

 Hmmm.

 Mmmmm!

 That end doesn't taste as good.

 That's the good stuff.

 Think he likes it?

 Maybe.

Definitely.

Parents of the Year

So, sometimes we just can't chase Calvin around any longer, therefore this happens...

Don't get upset. If you look, there are toys within reach. And he knows how to get out.

Just kidding! We were at the log cabin and Calvin was playing near the dog cage and surprised no one by crawling in it.

Gym Class

On Wednesdays over this summer, Calvin and I have been going to a gym class to burn a little energy. 

He gets to run and climb and bounce. 

 Last week we had scooters.

 Calvin was more interested in seeing the wheels and how they work.

 Here's Calvin deciding if he wants to jump with the others.

 His favorite thing is that there are a TON of balls to play with. 

He shoots...

 He scores!

 His second favorite thing is parachute time. It's the only time the kids sit still. They all LOVE to be dragged around on the parachute. They get so upset when it's time to get off.

 We always end with music and marching with instruments. Calvin usually goes for the cymbals. Bang!Bang!Bang!
