The Climbing Continues

The other day, Calvin asked to get up into his stroller.  I told him that we would do it later and walked away.
Then, I turn around and see this:

Or you can get in it now by yourself.

Hi, Chair!

Calvin has figured out how to climb on to the kitchen chairs
and likes to sit at the table like a big boy.
 We only do snacks
because it can be a wiggly,
 messy experience.
I realize we are only steps away from finding him ON the kitchen table so we'll take it.

The Water Boy

A few weeks ago we were at Lake Geneva and Calvin ventured into the water, with a little encouragement.
We had to throw his bucket in the water to entice him to go in.
 The boy likes his buckets.
He had fun splashing with Grandma.

I got in the water to help with playing ball.

Then he resumed his favorite game of throwing rocks into the water.
Good thing someone left a bunch of buckets in the sand that we could fill with rocks.
Thanks for the hand, Aunt Marty!
Will have to find some swim lessons soon.

One Corny Kid

Calvin has found a new food to add to his list of favorite foods.
"Why haven't you given this to me sooner?
Is this how you do it?
 Because it tastes good.
 Let me dig in!
 Hmmm, where to bite next?
 Oh, who cares!"
Calvin will be thrilled once the good stuff comes in later this summer (assuming it does, given the drought).

Chickadees

On Tuesday,  we went to a little concert at one of the local libraries.
These are The Chickadees. They had some loyal followers there, with T-shirts and all.
 Calvin enjoyed the music.
Most of the time he was the only kid standing up and clapping along (as best he could).
I think they made a new fan.

Mommy's Helper

The other day I was cleaning and Calvin wanted to help. I wasn't going to stop him.
Thanks, Calvin!

Fountains of Fun

Last week, we met some friends at the mall near our house for some fun in the fountain they have there.
Calvin had to observe what was going to happen.
 And when it did,
He was pretty sure he didn't want to be part of it.
Chip (in the hooded shirt), on the other hand,
 couldn't get enough.
Calvin and Amelia thought this was a perfectly good place to watch the action .
And then, of course, we had to take a break to eat. Calvin had to check out the view from Chip's trike.
Maybe next time, or next summer, he will be more brave.
