Big Kid Park

Last week we went to a park that had a little kid side and a big kid side.
Other then the swings, there wasn't much Calvin wanted to do on the little kid side.
So he led his friends to the big kid side.
This was a "boat" platform that rocked side to side.
 Had to play some music.
He loved to sit in the shade and watch the real big boys running around.
He tried his best to play like the big boys.
He loved these platforms that wiggled a lot when he was on them.
Here he was trying his best to jump up and reach these rungs.
Instead of climbing this rope ladder, he thought he'd hang from it and drop to the ground.
Then it was back to the wiggly platforms.
No more baby stuff for this big boy!

Sprinkler Time!

Last week it got hot enough to finally play in a sprinkler. Calvin was hesitant so Naomi and Cole helped show him how to do it.

 He caught on nicely.

After some refueling, it was time for some football.
They were making up some game about stealing a blue diamond (the football).
 Calvin just wanted to football.
We also brought out the pool.
I was surprised the kids were so excited to play in it.

If it ever stops raining, we'll do it again!

Another Festival

Milwaukee loves its ethnic festivals.
Last weekend, we took Calvin to Polish Fest.
I couldn't pass up a big pickle and Calvin insists I share with him.
He got to listen to some polka.
And he loved to play on the benches (seriously, there could have been nothing but benches at this festival and he would have been thrilled).
Then came the tasty, tasty food.
There was no need to try to convince Calvin to eat more.
We were all big fans of the yummy Polish food.
 Then came the park.
 And the slides.
Yes, this is as high as it looks.
 He loved it.
So he tried to climb up for more.
He's getting rather confident in climbing up and going down slides.
Then we hung out by the lake.
 After attempting nice pictures
it was back to throwing rocks
because there is still little he finds more fun.

He was mesmerized by the water for a bit.
 Maybe more then a bit.
We maybe had to drag him away from it.
But we took him to see some real Polish singers and dancers.
 They were quite good.
The sign says "cheers" in Polish.
We will definitely try to make it back to this one next year!

Festival Time

The season of festivals has begun in Wisconsin. A few weekends ago we headed to one together.
There were all sorts of rides.
Horses to ride.
 Trains to ride.
This picture was the last time around before the tears started
 Food brought back the smiles.
And goofy behavior. So it was back to more rides.
 Rides on Daddy.
 Rides on the carousel.
And a ride on a helicopter.
We went low,
 middle,
 and high.
 He liked it a LOT.

So much fun!
